Flax Bourton Roundhouse

This octagonal building is now used as an exciting outside classroom in Flax Bourton school, just outside Bristol.

Cubes have been cut into the centre-post, onto which the children carved their own designs, personalising it for the school.

Having worked with Touchwood to design the frame, this was manufactured at our workshop whilst groundworks were done. Touchwood then took the frame to site where it was put up in one day.

Making the frame is only a small part of a project like this – we hope the photographs illustrate how the roundwood frames can work within an enclosed structure.
