LONGMEAD HAY MEADOW

June 2020

A 12m x 8m asymmetrically pitched barn, forming part of a research centre for 1500 year old flood meadows in Oxfordshire.

Round wood rafters on both sides; one side to take thatch, and the other taking solar panels. Due largely to the weight of the thatch and the large clear-span in the middle of the barn, this is a highly spec’d frame, using concealed flitch plates and reinforced bracing.
